Rib Fabric (Ribana) Rib Fabric is a double-layer knit fabric produced on double-cylinder circular knitting machines, where the cylinder and dial needles are positioned alternately. The most distinctive feature of rib fabric is the alternating knit (R) and purl (L) stitches that appear on both sides when stretched widthwise. Its elastic and firm structure makes it ideal for cuffs, collars, and form-fitting garments.
