Tractor Brake Parts

There are several parts that make up the brake system of a tractor: Brake pedal: This is the pedal that the operator pushes to activate the brakes. Master cylinder: The master cylinder is a hydraulic component that converts the force from the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure. Brake lines: These are the pipes or hoses that carry the hydraulic brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brake calipers or brake shoes. Brake calipers or brake shoes: These are the components that press against the brake rotors or brake drums to create friction and slow or stop the movement of the tractor. Brake rotors or brake drums: These are the circular components that the brake calipers or brake shoes press against to generate friction. The rotors are typically found on tractors with disc brakes, while the drums are found on tractors with drum brakes. Brake pads or brake linings: These are the components that make contact with the brake rotors or brake drums and create the friction needed to stop the tractor. Wheel cylinders: These are hydraulic components that activate the brake shoes on tractors with drum brakes. Brake fluid: This is a specialized hydraulic fluid that is used to transmit the force from the brake pedal to the brake calipers or brake shoes. Bleeder valves: These valves are used to release air from the brake system and ensure that the brakes are functioning properly.
